Memorandum for the Russian-French cooperation in modernization of the second multiplex of state terrestrial telebroadcasting network
A ceremony of signing the Memorandum for cooperation between the Trade House “Svyaz Engineering” (Russia) and Thomson Broadcast, Aerelis Group (France), will take place on 1st November 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Reception House of the Government of the Russian Federation (Vozdvizhenka Str., 6) in the presence of the prime ministers of Russia and France.
The cooperation was made possible through the program of modernization of the state terrestrial tele- and radiobroadcasting network in accordance with the Federal target program “Broadcasting development in Russian Federation in 2009-2015”, approved by No.985 Decree of the Government of 3 December 2009. The Trade House “Svyaz Engineering” is the parent enterprise (General Contractor) of the consortium, recognized as a winner of the tender for the second multiplex construction, which was organized by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network”.
As a result of the Federal target program realization, the infrastructure of telebroadcasting networks will be modernized through their switch to digital technologies with a possibility of regional digital broadcast everywhere and new types of telebroadcasting, including High Definition television. Digital inequality over the territory of Russian Federation will be eliminated and a technology basis will be built for future development of the information space in Russia.
Thomson Broadcast was chosen by the Trade House “Svyaz Engineering” as one of the key partners for the second multiplex construction. This decision was based on the many years’ experience of cooperation with the Thomson company, quality and reliability of its products supplied to the Russian market.
Analysis and testing proved that Thomson DVB-T2 transmitters completely meet the requirements to the digital equipment for the second multiplex and some parameters even surpass them. Main Thomson transmitters’ advantages are energy-saving, compactness, reliability and high level of warranty and post-warranty service.
Both parts are expecting a long-term and versatile partnership.
Together with this partnership the Trade House “Svyaz Engineering” and Thomson are considering strengthening their cooperation in such areas as digital radiobroadcasting and network construction in CIS.
